Sarah Hyland said she was surprised by her husband's reaction to her latest Broadway role.
The Modern Family alum, 33, revealed Wells Adams was feeling a bit amorous after she previewed the voice she would be using as Audrey in the revival of Little Shop of Horrors during her visit to Live with Kelly and Mark on Friday.
The star — who recently celebrated Wells' 40th birthday in style — said he was adamant about hearing her accent for Audrey, as Broadway icon Ellen Greene's rendition became famous when she originated the role in 1982 and in the 1986 film.
'I don't do the Ellen Greene accent,' Sarah began. 'But my husband was asking me on the phone, 'Hey, how do you do it? Do it for me!' So I gave him a little preview over the phone of the accent.'
'He goes, "This is going to be very sexual for me,"' she recalled, noting it was 'the wildest reaction'.

She added, 'He was like, "It’s like my wife is doing Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny and it’s very hot."'
Nearly a decade after her role as Jacqueline 'Jackie' Bouvier in the original 2006 Broadway production of Grey Gardens, Sarah returned to the stage with her performance in Little Shop of Horrors.
She shared with Live hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that she felt 'terrified, nervous, and fearful' about making her return, admitting that she was highly critical of her own abilities.
'I mean, it’s been 17 years since I did 8 shows a week,' she added. 'So it’s been a really, really long time.'
Last August, the adorable couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary.
The pair both took to Instagram to share some sweet sentiments, which turned out to be an early morning affair.
'One year married to you flew by in a blink of an eye,' Sarah began in the caption of a wedding photo showing Adams showcasing his wedding ring.
She continued, 'You're my HUSBAND. My best friend. My true north. I love you more than words can say and every day is the best day when I'm with you. Marriage is most fun I've ever had because I get to be married to you.'
Adams wasted little time to respond and wrote, 'How did you beat me to this?!? It's 4am in Fiji!!!!! But I love you more. So there's that.'
Sarah also shared a series of snaps taken on their wedding day that included one of Wells leading his new wife on the dance floor by doing a traditional swirl of his lady.
'The only dance partner I'll ever need,' she gushed underneath the black and white photo.

The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday, August 20, by sharing sweet sentiments to each other, along with a series of photos
Hyland and Adams initially met online in 2017 after she praised the radio personality during his season on Bachelor In Paradise.
The couple got engaged in 2019, but their wedding was postponed to August 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ceremony took place at a winery in Santa Ynez, California, with family and close friends in attendance.
Guests included Hyland's Modern Family co-stars Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Nolan Gould, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
